Every week, Xtina Rose digs into how women get reduced to one word. Some episodes tell one woman's story — the accusation, the truth, and why the myth stuck. Others go deeper into the research behind the pattern.

Crazy, gold digger, bossy, high maintenance, dumb blonde, homewrecker, diva, witch, bitch, slut. These are just a sample of the many labels women have been called throughout history to today. Hi, I'm Christina Rose, and I am the host of a new podcast called Witches, Bitches, and Sluts. Through this podcast, I share stories of these women, both women who were damaged by the labels and women who persevered despite the labels. We will also look at the research behind why women get labeled at all, along with the history and trends of specific labels. And to share why these stories are so important to me, I need to share a personal story. When I was in middle school, my sister came home to find me crying on the bed. She asked me what was wrong, and I told her that the girls at school were talking shit about me. And she said, Wow, you must be popular. And that surprised me, so she continued, Well, they wouldn't be talking about you if they weren't threatened by you. Her words stuck with me all my life as I went on to be called everything from a nerd, a slut, a bitch, too bossy, too meek, and so on. And then once I became a history teacher, I started to notice a pattern amongst these women. They were all smart, they were all powerful, they were all loud, and society was threatened by them.
